Duong Hoang, PhD

Duong (Young) Hoang received his Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Howard University in Washington, DC. At present, Duong serves as the Clinical Services Manager for BPSOS; an adjunct professor for the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Washington DC campus; and a consulting staff psychologist for the Consortium for Counseling and Consultation on Capitol Hill. His prior professional experiences include the U.S. Veteran Affairs, the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, and the Arlington County Behavioral Health Division.

Duong has participated in two federally funded (SAMHSA & ORR) programs as the leading mental health professional to assist Vietnamese survivors of trauma cope with mental health concerns. He has presented nationally on issues surrounding cross-cultural psychology and anxiety related disorders among people of Southeast Asian descent. Duong is also the host for BPSOS' Healthy Marriage television program which airs in major Vietnamese enclaves throughout the country. During his leisure, Duong volunteers as an active board member for One Body Village (a non-profit organization combating child sex slavery in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) and as the Vice President for the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Society (a non-profit organization serving Vietnamese Catholic Youths and Youth Leaders).
