Serena Nguyen

Serena Nguyen was born in Vietnam. She escaped from Vietnam with her family as a refugee at the age of five where they landed and lived in the Philippines for a brief time. She migrated to the US in 1989 and has resided in the Northern Virginia/ Metropolitan DC area for the majority of her life.

“America is the land of opportunity”, as she was told from her mother. The reality, as she soon found after graduating from college, is that opportunities in America are always dependent on how big one dreams. Our visions and paradigms can only be stretched if we allow our desires to be greater than our fears and dare ourselves to change the status quo. As an Asian-American whose root lie in the culture and traditions of being a Vietnamese, she has always wanted to give back to the community.

Serena graduated from the University of Virginia with a Psycho-biology background. Brought up with a traditional view that the medical field was a defined career path, she broke free of it shortly after and went into the business sector for something more. She started out as an account executive working with various Fortune 500 companies and in the span of three months, ranked as the top five account executives in the entire nation over 3000 reps. She was brought onto different offices across the nation and lived in the following cities including: Atlanta, Georgia, Miami, Florida, Houston, Texas, and even in New Orleans, Louisiana during the time Katrina hit.

Today, Serena is the youngest director at Premier Financial, a nationwide financial broker that has been specializing in retirement, insurance, and living benefits for individuals and small businesses all across the country since 1989. She has the luxury to work with various companies such as National Life, ING, Allianz, MetLife, Prudential, and many more major players of the industry. Serena opened up her own branch in the heart of Northern Virginia, Tyson’s Corner after being with the firm for 2 years. A dynamic business leader with commitment to excellence in everything she does, she has grown a top-performing team with over 45 agents under her leadership in the span of 18 months. Serena Nguyen was awarded MVP of her company in 2010, and was inducted into the Million Dollar Club in 2009 and has since been a member to present day. In her free time, she considers herself an amateur photographer. She currently volunteers with BPSOS in organizing the first ever National Summit of Vietnamese American Leaders, co-chairing the Sponsorship Committee.
