Prof. Dung Ngo

Dung Ngo received his Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from Saint Louis University. Dr. Ngo is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Tyler. His clinical and research interests include Vietnamese Mental Health, Cross-Cultural research, and empirically validated treatment methods for Vietnamese-Americans. He also specializes in Neuropsychology and is currently leading the Vietnamese Alzheimer’s research project in collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Ngo has published in several psychological peer reviewed journals and has also published several book chapters. He has a vested interest in building a “healthier” Vietnamese American community. As President of the Vietnamese-American Psychological Association (VAPA), he is committed to work toward advancing Vietnamese American Psychology and addressing the mental health issues face by many Vietnamese Americans. He currently serves as a special consultant to the Boat People SOS on the Mental Health Gulf Coast Project. This project is funded by the State of Louisiana Catholic Charities, the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, and the Alabama Department of Mental Health to address the Mental Health and Behavioral Health problems face by the Vietnamese coastal residents due to the BP Oil Spill disaster in 2010.
