Bill Wong

Bill Wong is a strategic advisor who specializes in helping clients overcome complex policy and political challenges with aggressive, creative and unconventional tactics and strategies. His firm has advised Fortune 500 companies, political action committees, and candidates for local, state and federal office. Bill is an expert in mobilizing the emergent advocacy, voting and fundraising power of California’s Asian Pacific American communities.

Bill has played a role in the major darkhorse election victories of Judy Chu, John Chiang, Paul Fong, Warren Furutani, and Mike Eng. He also organized Asian Pacific American support which contributed to victories for the “No on Prop. 54”, “Yes on Prop. 55”, and “Yes on Prop. 39” campaigns.

Bill has over 20 years of legislative experience serving as Chief of Staff to State Assembly Member Judy Chu, Chief of Staff and Press Secretary to State Senator Hilda L. Solis, and Legislative Director to State Assembly Member Mike Honda.

During his tenure in the Legislature, Bill successfully developed and guided to passage millions of dollars in state budget funding for essential health and human services programs and groundbreaking legislation on Asian and Pacific Islander issues, revenue and taxation policy, and hate crime enforcement.

Bill has held leadership positions in numerous state and local community organizations and civic commissions including Chinese for Affirmative Action, Asian Pacific Islander Capital Association, Asian Pacific American Leadership Project, My Sister’s House API Domestic Violence Shelter, United States Electoral College (2000) California Elector, Sacramento Mayor’s Citizen Commission on Campaign Finance Reform, Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center, Chinese American Council of Sacramento, Council of Asian Pacific Islanders Together for Advocacy & Leadership, and Sacramento County Human Rights and Fair Housing Commissioner.

Bill has also received numerous awards for community service.

Bill earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor degree in Asian American Studies at the University of California at Davis. He has also served as a guest lecturer for the University of California at Davis.
